I *think* the correct thing to do here is to loosen the lexicon, since that's how it's being used in the wild. If I need to introduce a stricter field that's probably a new field entirely.

Ooo good to know... Hmmm I can probably just loosen that field to a string, or... Better case would be to expect it to have the protocol as part of it... Honestly the whole base_path field I am not totally happy with, got a give it a think.

Yeah fair that sounds pretty bad. I'm more pro exploring phone free learning spaces as a cultural norm and agree legislating it is dumb and overreach

I'm a tad uncomfortable with equating banning phones in schools and gate-ing social media. Creating a space where specific behaviors are encouraged (and enforced to varying degrees) is sort of the premise of schools, and imo more respecting of basic freedoms than restricting what people do online.

tools.awarm.space/blind-writer I made this tiny editor years ago to force you to write stream of consciousness for X number of words. I always forget about it for a while and then rediscover it's surprisingly useful.

The outfit is from the blurhms fw 2019 collection I think! Love the pants, the pleat and buttons up top are v cool. I only heard about them this year!

Bad news fellas

This is exactly why I am running fedora, and while I do miss that arch's big ol package repository it isss nice that 100% of my drivers just worked....

( it still took some wrangling for hardware video acceleration in browsers... and plugging my camera in requires running a shell command first...)

Lol writing that though I remember why I believe in this stuff. When people actually do things they care about together, it tends to work out. This lil slice of the network I'm in is here to *do* very specific things, so we can learn from each other, and see folks are complex fallible people.

I believe there are ways for us to build and learn and live together, that aren't just retreating to more and more private space, but I'm having a hard time imagining it lately

yeah def very aware of this. I think moving content around is the source of a lot of the pitfalls, the approach should be to augment the content with social data, instead of trying to translate into different formats.

you *wouldn't* get rendered on leaflet, or directly within our reader view. You *maybe* could get comments via leaflet, but that ui would be seperate from the content (unless you render that on your site somehow, via pulling from an xrpc endpoint we should set up)

should we add a lexicon for externally published posts to leaflet. basically an atproto based rss alternative, but will make it so your posts on a blog published anyhow can be subscribed to, and will turn up in our upcoming reader view.

Fwiw I think there *is* a community of people building and exploring interesting stuff with AI! Geoffrey Litt and Mary rose cook come to mind. I think the vc driven hype is just sooo much louder it tends to drown out the interesting scene if you're not in it
