The Princess Bride is one of my all time favorite books and movies.

A pinup illustration of my final character design for Buttercup. She is a beautiful, blonde, buxom woman, wearing a mauve and yellow dress, and gazing happily (if not a bit vapidly) offscreen. Final vis dev board for the scenes I redesigned for The Princess Bride including the thumbnail explorations, value and color studies, and the finished cinematic moment. The top scene is when they are approaching the Cliffs of Insanity, the bottom scene is the romantic rescue from the quicksand in the Fire Swamp. Final board featuring the vis dev process for redesigning a few characters from The Princess Bride, including thumbnail shape exploration, gestures, action poses, expressions, color studies and turnarounds. I focused mainly on Buttercup but also explored Inigo, Fezzik, and Vizzini.
