There were so many abandoned farmhouses. All standing in testament to a forgotten age. One where man lived by the seasons and the fruits of the land. Memorials left to rot and be reclaimed by nature again.

The forecast had been a mistake. They said barely any snow, but here we were with several inches on the ground and still going. It made a perfect day for watching the snow fall, but a horrible day for getting work done. Well, it's been a crazy week, so why not go full hygge!

Winter fog crept in, slowly quieting the last riotous orange of autumn. The Harvest Gods took their final bow, welcoming the Yule Lads and their mischief. Seasons turned, trees began their slumber, reindeer pawed the Northern snow in anticipation.

The office holiday party had gotten out of hand after the fourth round of Holly Jolly's. But he didn't expect this, waking up wearing only a waiter's jacket and gloves.
Why were there reindeer in the ballroom? Why did he smell like balsam?
What was in those cocktails? He blamed the elves.

The days were short and the dark came early. Families gathered under snowcapped eaves, shaking off the cold with laughter. The year wasn't easy, none were in these northern towns, but for a spell in winter they celebrated.

The days were short and the dark came early. Families gathered under snowcapped eaves, shaking off the cold with laughter. The year wasn't easy, none were in these northern towns, but for a spell in winter they celebrated.

Whimsy sat on her cushion, her face slicked down with grease and juice and bits of turkey. She was panting from the effort of dragging the 10 pound bird, nearly her own size. She looked proud of herself.
