It occurs to me that murder mysteries are a form of horror. No matter what the hero does, they can’t stop the worst from happening. All they can do is find the one responsible and hope justice will be served.

Here’s an idea. Close state borders. Demand ID of everyone entering, especially federal agents. Make fed agents go through a background check before letting them out of the border holding cell.
We need to make sure other states aren’t sending their rapists and murderers into our state.

Question: why do artists paint bowls of fruit?
Answer: to teach themselves to see what’s real. We KNOW an apple is round, red, and generally has a stem. But if you actually look at real apple, you will see different pigmentation, texture, an irregular shape, and how light interacts with both.
