Today SILK & SINEW is out!

This folk horror anthology, edited by @garnetonwinter.bsky.social & published by @badhandbooks.bsky.social, sold out of its pre-orders!! 🙀

I'm awed to be part of this incredible collection with my story about the making of monsters through the eye of the beholder. 🖤

I just finished NORTH OF NORTH's first season on Netflix and loved it! Such a funny, heartwrenching, and sweet rom-com with a vibrant cast of characters.

Also, Siaja's earring game is top tier:

If you see this, post a fictional artist/band that you would love to see live.

What wouldn't I give to witness their punk anthems in real life! 🤘🏽

Deeply grateful and delighted to be part of this collective of diasporic Asian folk horror! 🖤✨️

My story explores the making of monsters through the eye of the beholder—and the embracing of monstrosity to survive the beholder.

IN A NAME:

A story that interrogates the binary categorisations of gender and biology using a permutational analogy of the seven chakras from South Asian spiritual philosophy.

"On the eve of my seventeenth birthday, I prepare to earn the seventh—and final—letter of my name."

A sapphic reimagining of a Bengali folktale about a spirit who possesses her victims because she yearns to relive the passion of her married days.

I've been playing A Way Out and assumed their depiction of prison breakers hiding in bushes must have taken artistic license, but now I see it's very realistic. 👌🏼

Things I'd always carry in my bag, science fiction & fantasy edition:

⏳️ Mini time rewinder to undo that horrendously awkward thing I just said

🎻 Adaptive soundtrack to help regulate ongoing experiences and feelings

🌊 Bottle of water that's always full, weightless, and never forgotten or misplaced

Yesterday was a confluence of festivals: Halloween, Kali Pujo, Diwali. Due to different calendar systems (solar/lunisolar), this is quite rare! 🎃💀🪔

I wrote an overlap day like this in Save Me From Myself, for NIGHT OF THE LIVING QUEERS—Halloween shenanigans, Kali's influence, & queer teen angst. 🖤

Hi new Bluesky community, just wanted to introduce myself and say welcome!

I write dark and wistful speculative fiction about misfits, monsters, mischief-makers. My work spans genres and age categories. Literal or figurative bleeding hearts—both are for me.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Grateful for this publication of my essay about a Bengali anticolonial recipe passed down my family.

I wrote of repressed narratives and lost history serving an imperialist status quo. It's one of many reasons why I stand for and believe in a free Palestine. 🕊🇵🇸

I’m full of gratitude this National Coming Out Day for the 3 queer anthologies I had the honour of contributing to this year:

✨️ Transmogrify!—YA fantasy with trans/genderqueer magic

❤️‍🔥 Luminescent Machinations—on the transcendence of mechas

💀 Night of the Living Queers—BIPOC YA Halloween horror

WILTED PAGES, a dark academia anthology—out now!

My story "An Inordinate Amount of Interest" explores the Faustian cost of student loans.

Contributing with horror writers/editors I've long admired means the world to me. When I saw the TOC names either side of mine, I had a total fangirl moment...!

NIGHT OF THE LIVING QUEERS is out in the world today! It’s been an honour to join this QPOC YA horror anthology.

“Save Me From Myself” is a tragedy in which intrusive thoughts manifest into reality. But I hope it gives a glimpse into people’s enormous capacity for love, even as things fall apart.
