I did all this in a month partly because I needed to get it done and partly because I needed to keep busy so I wouldn’t be sad over this breakup. Also, finishing this first project feels like a major win to me for so many reasons. I’m just…happy.

I started with buying a new sofa (the first sofa I’ve ever purchased), buying a new dishwasher (the one that was here was broken when I moved in and it was too daunting to deal with), and painting (the painters are also patching all the holes in the walls).

I didn’t have any money when I moved in so all my home makeover dreams were just dreams. But now I’m finally at a place where I can start doing small things.

I inherited my childhood home in 2021. I moved in sight unseen I was just grateful to have home and no mortgage but so many things were broken/falling apart because of the tenant that lived here.

Yes and yes.

In my defense it really is a two person job.
