I saw fault mainly in myself feeling comfort in the coldness of it all. Accepting minimum effort. Overlooking the obvious signs that they did not want me around. The looks, how they would put others over me in my face, the slight signs of impatience when I’m present.

Cutting that friendship off was the start of me realizing just how many friendships I had where I was the one who was more active than the other party. Since recognizing that pattern, they all seem to be unraveling by themselves.

And now there’s drama about the storage unit. The company put the unit on auction status and popped the lock. Now they’re saying that they want my husband there in person to get the keys to the new lock since the unit is paid off.
