The employment rate of non-EU born migrants exceeded that of the UK-born for the first time on record.

Confirms other evidence that recent migrants (even if they did not arrive on work visas) are very likely to be working/have high employment rates.

During our fieldwork last few weeks, dropped by a handcraft atelier, bought a beautiful Berber kilim in Meknes and made this video, showing Jewish, Arab, Berber and Catholic handcrafts. Morocco is a stunning country with great diversity in many fields.

FYI :)

IN OTHER NEWS: check out our new COIN paper on immigrant--native pay gaps in advanced economies published in @nature.com this afternoon! Specifically, we study the relative contribution of within-job unequal pay vs between-job segregation to earnings disparities across immigrant generations. 1/9
Immigrant–native pay gap driven by lack of access to high-paying jobs - Nature

Was a great pleasure chairing this session with a lot of discussions on gender issues

We had an inspiring session yesterday morning at #ISAforum25 in Rabat! Our panel included papers on migrant socio-economic outcomes and relocation patterns, exploring family and gender effects. Enjoyed presenting our paper, followed by a rich debate by an enthusiastic audience.

Research shows GenZ are more often believers than Millennials in NL, but church membership keeps declining. Is it period or age effect though?

We show similar findings for west Europe for different religions, mainly for Muslim and Protestant second generation 👇
