Bowling Green men and women’s basketball are on a nice little winning streak heading into the holidays. Both have had relatively weak schedules, though the men’s team has a signature win over Kansas State. They are 10-3 and face 13-0 Miami in a big conference clash on 12/30.

The men’s basketball team hosts Utah Valley today in what is the biggest OOC home game in many years. BG is sitting at its highest computer ranking ever after the Kansas State win and UVU is top 100 across the board, as well.

Sam Towns was on fire with 27 points on 8-14 shooting with 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals to lead the team.
The Falcons shot 46% from three-point to pull of the upset and move to 6-2 on the year!

The Falcons fall to 1-6 in the MAC after losing 19-16 to Akron. It has been a rough turn for George and staff after expectations skyrocketed following the Toledo win. Injuries to QBs and a poor offensive line have resulted in a very disappointing season.

Hockey completed the sweep of Ferris State with a 5-2 victory. After a disappointing opening series this season, the Falcons have gotten better each week and should be near the top of the CCHA.

Men’s basketball had a furious rally fall short as they lose to Davidson 91-87. Davidson looked like a better team and revealed some areas of needed improvement for BG. Overall, still feeling like BG might be a top contender in the MAC this year.

Good fight by the women’s basketball team tonight, but they fall to Marquette 71-55. 0-2 on their Wisconsin tour and they fall to 1-3 in a very tough opening schedule.

Football did about as expected against Louisville, who is deservedly knocking on the door of the Top 25. They are bigger, faster, and could actually throw the ball. The final was 40-17 but it wasn't really even that close.

On the bright side, the defense still looks very solid, even after losing Pringle (likely for the season). Here’s hoping they exit this week with their health and open MAC play strong.

BG with a rough first half on offense. Pyne looks rattled and the receivers aren’t getting space. Louisville is too strong up front to get the run going without being able to open it up. Currently 21-3 Louisville and they are threatening again to open the 3rd.
