Good grief, but Olivia Nuzzi is a terrible writer. And she needed an editor: the "it" in "It had been a blizzard . . ." does not have a clear antecedent. "It' appears to refer back to "place," but that doesn't make sense. She meant: "I was born during a blizzard."
Very sloppy.

I finished assembling a new guitar from parts--a partsmaster, as they're sometimes called. The body is based on a Fender Jazzmaster. I bought pickups from a small maker named Malinoski; they're based on old DeArmond gold-foil pickups. I like the sound.

My old friend Darryn came up for a visit this afternoon. I was able to show him my place, and we went for an early dinner at my favorite local Mexican place. He's one of the great people of this world.

New (to me) Dean Palomino. The weather has been superb the last several days here in central Minnesota. Supposed to cool off tomorrow. I thought that I'd spend some time on the deck this afternoon.
