Trump and the spineless elected Republicans who enable and encourage him have done a great job of taking care of their constituents. Too bad their constituency doesn't include any non-billionaire Americans.
This guy needs to STFU and get back to doing somethings he is actually good at. Oh wait, what he is really good at is defrauding Medicare/Medicaid out of billions of dollars. Never mind...

Under MAGA logic the guy who works down at Dunkin Donuts is a terrorist and the proof is that I'm overweight.

Apparently Mark Kelly has forgotten that Donald Trump was awarded a medal for making his bed in military school - does that count for nothing? Also, when people talk about Agent Orange during Vietnam, it should be obvious that this was a Special Ops guy on classified covert ops - aka Donald Trump!

It's like a Trumpian nightmare version of Hieronymus Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights".

I can't help but note that neither of the Millers are representative of the class of Americans who have customarily produced our infantrymen.

Fun Fact: In Trump 1.0 this guy was picked by Trump to be the US Ambassador to Venezuela, which is why I don't find his take on this to be at all surprising.

What we're witnessing is a GOP Congressman publicly making an argument to defend his own irrelevance.

If I was a roughneck working on an oil rig in west Texas I'd be kinda worried about my own job security if, every day, a few million more barrels of oil are added to the global supply.

Absolute agree with the article you've written. Too bad all my Trump loving neighbors will respond by saying, "Yeah maybe this isn't what I thought America First meant, but as long as we keep that trans kid off the swim team I'm good with it".

I’m just waiting for one of these assholes to drag out the old Bush/Chenney line about how “they’ll welcome us as liberators”.

By comparison the editorial board of Washington Post is saying they think this attack is great.

You seem to be suggesting that the medal Donny was awarded for making his bed in military school counts for nothing…?

Why does the “Jesus would have been the greatest quarterback” line from Elmer Gantry come to mind? The teachings of Jesus have always been centered on “thou shalt maximize value for the shareholders for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”.

I've heard MAGAs describe the rash that comes with measles as "freedom freckles".

On WAPO's web site I had to actuality type the name "Jack Smith" into the search function to find an article about this news story. If burying a story unfavorable to Trump was their goal they succeeded. And yet MAGA-world persists with complaints about "the liberal lame-stream media".
December 31, 2025 at 11:51 PM
MAGA voters I know rationalize all of this by saying, in so many words, "Even if this is true - and it isn't - it would be worth it because we kept some trans kid off the high school swim team".
December 31, 2025 at 8:52 PM
If Trump ends up crashing the economy so badly that I end up living under a bridge and eating roadkill I'll still say it was all more than worth it to keep that trans kid off the swim team. /s

JD Vance is the living embodiment of the answer to the age old question, "At what point does an intestine quit being an intestine and start being an asshole?"
December 21, 2025 at 8:28 PM
You’d think this would be a major news story of the day, but when I look at the NYT and the Washington Post I don’t even see it being mentioned. Why am I not surprised?

It is your unwillingness to find common ground and show respect for the views of people who believe that Hillary Clinton literally molested infant children and then ate their corpses that has caused America's ever-widening political and cultural divide. Try to be more openminded! 🤪
