it's bizarre to see both CNN and CNBC run with chyrons reporting that Trump said he won't "use force" to take Greenland, when the comments in question were clearly a threat to take Greenland by force. How naive are we at this point?

I‘m sure it would be argued that way, using some sort of “emergency top double secret probationary need to know how dare you question me” whatever but declaring (starting) war is not within a President‘s powers.

Because until his public support goes, lower the few remaining non-MAGA GOP will do nothing. It isn’t there quite yet, but it is much closer. Until then they are following General James Wolfe‘s orders.

I do wonder if things have “accelerated” enough to garner enough public support to push it (them) thru. But with just what’s happened over the last week, maybe we shouldn’t wait to find out either.

Me too! Haha. In the interview he talks about how the phrase “abolish ice“ is not a great political statement but that remaking ice (regardless of name) in to a law following force might make sense. Paraphrased. He notes that we’ve always had immigration enforcement but this (ice) is not it.
