Month 3: Learning🤖@godotengine.org

I realized I was at the beginning of my learning curve while I was making the game and when I finished it. Check out my Reddit post:

Week 4: Learning🤖@godotengine.org

Creating my first solo game ever, I'm learning from scratch. I actually did the painting of the stone with glow effect. Learned Parallax BGs, started creating the world with those, and more...

Week 3: Learning 🤖 @godotengine.org
I found myself watching Brackeys once again. I want to keep things simple at first. I want to create something easy, special, and doable at first. It's a platformer. That's all I can say now.

All I can say for this week is: #gamedev is hard lol.

Week 2: Learning 🤖 @godotengine.org
• Godot Docs | Introduction
• Dev Worm | I wish I had known
• Brackeys | GDScript Tutorial

Lots I don’t get yet, but practice helps; should I start a game next week right away? A tiny game idea that barely needs code.

Open to tips! 🙌

Week 1: Learning 🤖 @godotengine.org
Started with Brackeys "How to Make a Video Game" video. Pretty much straightforward tutorial for specifically Godot Engine, and I already forgot what I saw on the video so far lol but at least I know about the engine at least a bit now!

I've decided to start learning 🤖Godot, and it's language! I am sort of new to programming so I am looking for some #blenderguru level videos.

Who is Blender Guru of @godotengine.org?

📆 Saturday will be the first day.
Any help would be appreciated. Please suggest me anything!

Well, I feel the satire here and your comment made me wait for a second and think about it. I also believe I can adapt to Aseprite as well since I have a decent familiarity to Photoshop. However, I've never done pixel art before. I believe I might start with Godot; Aseprite, one day, maybe? 🤓
azizkerimkocak.bsky.social
The thing is, I am not sure if I do want to create games from scratch, I think creating those "indirectly" would make me feel good enough as well. I feel like I'd have great fun creating environments(🏡); I also believe I need to create some of my own assets(🍩) for that? I don't really know. 🥲
azizkerimkocak.bsky.social
I believe this might be also a thing even though it might be a little bit time consuming and "long term plan". Since I already can use Photoshop, I can adapt to Aseprite as well. However, I want to be consistent on one pretty much since a full time job is already time consuming. Gotta pay taxes. 🤡
azizkerimkocak.bsky.social
I think I just can't deny that whenever I see a pixel art game trending around I get excited and this is pretty much coming from the early stages of Terraria & Starbound; even I remember that back in Minecraft's Classic era where you play on Web I was trying pixel art with blocks in my childhood! 🧊

I need your help so much. Can't decide! 🐵

🍩 Blender
👾 Aseprite
🏡 Unreal Engine
👨🏻‍💻Godot

Which one should I start learning? I am already into #gamedev for 5~ years as a game designer. I want to learn a new skill and seriously I am almost into all of them haha.

#puzzlepirates I think it would be the first game I would want to go back in time and play when it was most popular. Puzzle Pirates was ahead of its time. CMIIW!!! 🏴‍☠️ #gaming Only if they had a solution to these auto-bots. :(

Basically an (Escape from Tarkov x V Rising) and it has shorter sessions. I hope I can hop in and off because that's the only reason I can not play persistent worlds though I am a huge Rust fan. I just can't put that much time into it anymore. :)

Sounds like a great idea to be honest. Wishlisted!
azizkerimkocak.bsky.social
Hey @acherkashin.bsky.social, just noticed your game on Reddit. It looks amazing. Just out of curiosity, how do you plan to differentiate yourself from V Rising because at first sight I thought it was same, which could also be a compliment. What do you think is the main selling point of your game?

We’ve just released Think? — a PSX-style retro horror game. Psychological thriller vibes.

You wake up in a strange apartment. Lights flicker. People vanish. Reality twists. It’s eerie, unsettling, and full of questions. 15~ mins of playtime.

Hey Bart,
Cool concept though I believe there's lots to do with UI/UX. FTUE is hard since it's a mess now. I am aware of the current state of the game is way too early but still just spitting it out. I'd also recommend you to add building/upgrades progress bars which is instant right now. Good luck!

Okay, hold on a second, we have just started playing this "Half-Life but this time you try to survive + we add crafting" game called Abiotic Factor with a few of my friends, but would you mind sharing me the idea of settling down? We just can't decide where to settle... Help... 🔦

Sevgili @selcuksportshd.bsky.social, sana teşekkür ediyorum bu dev hizmet için. Sadece bir rica, Player'a yaptığın değişiklikler sonrası artık yan ekrana koyamıyorum. Eskiden pivot monitörde tam ekran yapar, black bar'lar eşliğinde izlerdim. Şimdi stretch'liyor. Bunu düzeltmeyi düşünüyor musun?
