I was taking a watercolor class (in jr college) The assignment was to present swatches of different textures. I actually was kinda proud of my board... I got an F. SHE GAVE ME AN F!!! WTF! 50 yrs later, it still galls me. (i'm ok, i'll just go get a gummy.. brb 🙄)

I'm getting the hang of it!! 'Guess it needs one of those crust edge foil "skirts"?! Take home lesson: the 1950 edition of Betty Crockers cookbook says SIFT THE FLOUR... and they mean it!!! (or the flour measurement will be waaaay off) 😱

That happens here (Sonoran Desert) sometimes, too. Shows up on my USGS local list, then NOT a quake?!? But, I saw the sliding glass door UNDULATING, the roof creaked, and there were witnesses! WTF. Not a delivery or garbage truck, not a mining blast, not a train wreck or plane crash... THEN WHAT?!?

Here is my home remedy: Corona ointment. I have used it directly on splits on my thumbs (covered w bandaid) for many years, with good results. I have even rubbed it all over my hands and worn cotton gloves overnight for relief if the cracking is too widespread. Available at feed stores, etc. WORKS!!

Whoa! I completely forgot about this poem. My Dad used to recite it at the ADULTS table, filled with grand parents great aunts & uncles et al. It was part of an oratory tradition with that generation, I guess. No one thought it was corny. *I thought it was the prelude to the drinking that ensued! 🤣
