Yeah, fuck that. To me, just go by perception of age from the character.
Or just do what a Japanese person does and say they're all aged up to 18 without actually doing anything to make it look like that.
It's stupid, but at least have that age up notice somewhere.

Oh, man I love first person perspective as well!
It's just tough because, like VR, everything needs to be entirely animated. But at least in video form there's more shortcuts than before.
I still try to implement more first person stuff when I can!
