If you're ever interested in checking out what a really good MUD created with a few more modern ideas than most would be like, the sister MUDs COGG and CLOK are incredible.

I've also gotten back into a MUD I used to play in the past couple weeks (Legends of the Jedi). MUDs are like the only thing able to accurately represent playing DnD in a "video" game.

Pentiment was pretty cool. You play an artist in Medieval Bavaria who is visiting an abbey and gets wrapped up in solving a murder, at least in the first part. A very slow game with lots of personal conversations.
