Anything modded should require a special cert sticker visible on the vehicle with a unique code that police can check. Or maybe just tie mod certs to license plates.

Basically all lifts are illegal, but it's never enforced. Same with muffler deletes.

I agree entirely. But the problem is on roads I easily, without a single watt out of the motor, get over 50km/h just from gravity alone. And because bikes don't have speedometers by law, you can't enforce a speed limit as a peace officer.

Saying that the primary use of a bike lane is for kids perpetuates the toxic attitude that bikes are just toys. Millions of people use bikes for work, bikes to get to work, and bikes to run errands. They aren't just for kids.

Why not both? I can control the risks that cars present to me while I'm out on a bike; I cannot manage the risk created by an e-motorcycle rider who close-passes in a protected bike lane.
