Yes please check status of your voter registration. Make sure address is right, where your voting location is and you’re registered to get mail-ballot -so that you have flexibility and can choose to turn it in early or vote in person on the day. (In Pa, you have to bring and surrender MIB packet. )

And assuming that Speaker Johnson’s weakness would doom the bill ignored the voice of Trump and his thuggish cult to frighten House GOP into compliance.

Don’t blame God

Me too. My advice: Put on the big boy pants and learn to compete. That’s what we’ve had to do.

I don’t have answers. But I’m sure nervous if people have to be excited before they go vote. If they can’t get excited and do the minimal level of critical thinking to understand who best approaches their values we’re in trouble. Expecting 100% congruence is naive and self defeating.

I grew up in Latrobe, PA, Mr Rogers’ first neighborhood. He would be appalled at how the country has become so selfish and cruel.
July 4, 2025 at 8:26 PM
Well I hope those who weren’t excited enough to vote for her are not college students who will lose Pell grants or food assistance or were on a student loan forgiveness plan. Maybe we should look to candidates for good governance and values and not entertainment
July 4, 2025 at 12:05 AM
And the dems who didn’t show up to vote for Harris or Bob Casey in PA.
July 3, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Thanks. But I’m a realist. There’s no great correlation that shows support at rallies turns into votes. I was at Harris rallies on several college campuses - big turnout but at the rally but not so great at the ballot box.

They’re just pissed off that they’ll miss their flights back home .
July 3, 2025 at 1:54 PM
Oh but he would be able to overcome that obstruction as potus? Sorry to disillusion you, but getting things done in divided Congress requires overcoming obstruction. He could never get enough people on his side.
July 2, 2025 at 8:44 PM
Not sure Democrats at fault for that. The ACA helped get millions on healthcare insurance but republicans have chipped away at it since approval. Biden started work to bring down housing prices but Trump stopped it al. And why didn’t bernie do any of that in his decades in the Senate?
July 2, 2025 at 10:29 AM
He brings them to rallies. It’s not the same as getting them to vote. And it’s not irrelevant that Bernie didn’t get anything done legislatively. It’s indicative of his style and practices that could be translated to his behavior if he were potus

Keep dreaming and keep losing.
June 30, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Maybe switch that around and consider who was the best choice - HRC or Trump or KH vs Trump. Both of them would have been more progressive. Biden was more progressive and more effective than Obama w smaller majorities. Bernie got nothing done while in Senate.
June 30, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Bernie is not and never has been a Dem. And there’s no way in hell he would have won. Stop the delusions. HRC was a well qualified candidate. So was Kamala Harris. Just think where we would be if people had voted for the woman -first Hillary and then Kamala . Don’t tell me it wasn’t that.

I would be excited if I saw it.
June 26, 2025 at 5:55 PM
Go for it. This old relic thinks it’s long past time for you all to start doing the work.
June 26, 2025 at 5:41 PM
What’s your proof? Easy to say but don’t think it’s true for most Dems.
June 26, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Im a realistic relic who worked on the Hill. I would love large majority in both houses but we need more people to vote to make big change possible so without it we get thru everything we can. Biden did very well w slim majorities and didn’t get any credit. He was a relic who knew how to get done.
June 26, 2025 at 5:23 PM
It’s not a one size fits all guy. Lots of good policies to vote for if you do the homework and understand the rules not some but I want this or I won’t vote!
June 26, 2025 at 4:24 PM
That may be right. But sometimes one has to assume some responsibility for one’s actions or inaction.
