You might dislike what the show is about but the entirety of season 2 is as creative as it gets full of homages to multiple genres, it's a beauty to see unfold.

I mostly mean the full movie trailer formula down to the rising tension beats with black screen transitions meant to shock you at each reveal + a quirky joke somewhere.
Also can't help but feel like its just wrong to watch a game trailer and the first thing you see is actor credits.

Theres more stuff that hasn't finished or I haven't watched myself so i'm not going to talk too mention em too much but it was a crazy year

CITY and Panty & Stocking s2 are the big ones, but for me there was way more stuff like YAIBA, Legend of Hei 2 (tho that one is not necessarily anime) and some others that might not be as well regarded.
Though on the mainstream side we still had Reze arc and if purely on an animation basis SoloLe 2

The Third Nightmare really is a tad harsh with the infodumps, did you get through Lord of Shadows though? Its an enjoyable volume even though the one after is a little more of a slog.
