We are leaving you tonight we words from Adam Langer aka our fav CDC hero who went toe to toe with ACIP today. 💪
“Thank you all for all of your kind words. When I first started to speak at the meeting today, I had no idea what the reaction was going to be. I am no hero. I am just one of the many public health scientists at CDC who happens to have been entrusted with a leadership role and the platform to be able to put words to what we were all thinking. The real credit (and the cookies) should go to the teams in the Division of Viral Hepatitis, Immunization Safety Office (DHQP), Immunization Services Division, and NCIRD OD who did the real work that led up to today. If you want to do something to recognize the hard work that went into making it possible for me to stand up this week and advocate for our children, do something for those groups, or better yet, do something for the unsung heroes you work with every day. They deserve the acclamation as much or more than I do.”

Before October ends, it’s worth reminding folks of the importance of breast cancer screening. Mammograms are recommended for 👻🐝 >40 and folks of all ages with higher risk of breast cancer. Everyone (even you, men!) should do self-examinations ~1x per month.
