🧬 #BacDive is also taking a long-awaited leap into the world of genomics with the debut of a genome browser 🔎🖥️.

For the first time, BacDive now displays genomic information. The genome browser feature lists and visualizes #Bakta annotations of #INSDC genome assemblies.

✨With this update, #BacDive additionally receives a new look 🖥️.

The new website, which had been in beta test phase for the last six months, adopts the shared modern design of @dsmzd3.bsky.social, which offers users an intuitive navigation and more clearly structured strain detail pages.

The 2025 #BacDive 🦠 release is now online.

🎉🥳 The database now contains information on more than 100,000 strains 🧫.

For this update, new data provided by @leibniz-dsmz.bsky.social and information on type strains of newly described species from the #LPSN database were added.

New genome-based predictions 🧬🖥️ generated using a deepG GenomeNet model were recently added to BacDive 🦠.

33,913 predictions for Gram stain, motility, oxygen tolerance and spore formation with high confidence could be fully integrated into the strain data.

❗The 2024 BacDive release is now online❗

New strains from the @leibniz-dsmz.bsky.social catalogue, new data provided by DSMZ curators, and information on type strains of newly described species were added to the database. 🦠

BacDive now contains 2,709,516 data points on 99,392 strains!

📣 Introducing the new BacDive knowledge graph 🦠💡, which contains more than 16.5 million triples representing so far 26 BacDive entities and can be accessed through a SPARQL ✨ endpoint.

🥳 BacDive mini update completed!

🧫 BacDive pages now contain links to the new #PhageDive database for prokaryotic viruses.

🧬New 16S sequences were added to thousands of BacDive strains and small bugs were fixed to improve the BacDive user experience.

BacDive has been added to ELIXIR Core Data Resources! #ELIXIRCDRs are European #lifescience data resources that are important to biological and biomedical research and long-term preservation of biological data.
