This year (I mean previous), thanks to do amazing comments, I was allowed to continue in research by my PI and thanks to that, I have a publication and an opportunity to finish PhD. Maybe wind of change? 🥳 congratulations 🥂

A big shoutout to Mahmoud Shoman and Jarmila Hnilicova, who allowed me to join this story! This paper would not be possible without the amazing collaboration between several laboratories and facilities of @ceitec.eu, @czechacademy.bsky.social, @charlesuni.cuni.cz
Congratulations to all authors! 🥳🥳🥳

We used NMR, ITC, ChIP_seq and other methods to investigate the binding mechanism and examine the unique structural system. CrsL can transition from disordered to structured protein upon binding to CarD and possibly RNAP in RPos.

We discovered and characterised a novel interacting partner of CarD, a major transcription regulator in mycobacteria - CrsL. This small 5.7 kDa protein is intrinsically disordered, yet upon binding to CarD, adapts a distinct HTH structure. We explored its function in Mycolicibacterium smegmatis 🧪🧲
