Much of journalism relies on the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect.
Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward-reversing cause and effect. / call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them. In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. I voted BC & Fed NDP > 20 yrs. BCNDP colossally fumbled. Their OWN policies aren’t laws of physics. They needed to recognize the implications + do *something in the last 8* years they’ve been in power. So much hubris + incompetence. Plenty of doc friends & family - I’m familiar with BC pub health.

It was the 1991 NDP, per the NDP MoH in her CBC interview, that set the policies to block immigrant docs + stopping BC docs from family medicine.

BC public health’s RSV vaccination for pregnant women, good luck, it costs $300 🤷
BRITISH COLUMBIA HealthLinkBC C 8-1-1 The vaccine is given just before or during the RSV season, ideally between weeks 32 and the end of 36 weeks of pregnancy. For the best protection, it's important to get the vaccine at least two weeks before birth to allow time for the antibodies to reach your baby. The vaccine is not free (it costs about $300) and can be purchased at select pharmacies.

Anecdote, I know a US family that moved to Canada for school support for their autistic child. Apparently their state/city/school support (no idea how the US system works) is being defunded/removed/scaled down to such a degree the entire family moved 🤯

K12 probiotic (link) may be worth trying. Plus an Italian K12 school study in which 0 of the kids got COVID. Another study showed a 95% in strep infections.
