The only saving grace for WCBB is that the WNBA, for now, won’t let you play until 22 yrs old. That creates a chance to develop a following IF you stay at one school or move once maybe. The state of Iowa has stuck with Clark as an example.

I’m old school like you but the college game is not that any longer whether it be football or basketball. It’s the farm league for both. It began with one and done and further devolved with the portal and NIL. WCBB is hanging on even with the portal.

Yes! To clarify, I don’t care for him personally but he knows how to coach chip winning hoops. Agree that he fits today’s NCAA perfectly.

Flagg and Broome so therefore Duke and Auburn. I think Bruce Pearl gives AU the edge.

Same here. I’ll let you in on a secret: I’ve never been particularly impressed or entertained by women’s basketball. Clark is really the reason I watch. But I doubt I’ll watch any games.

It’s awful. Takes a lot of excitement out of the tourney. I think she will be fine and get back to her level but as we’ve seen with Paige it may take more than one season. I do think more needs to be discussed re: women’s higher tendency to ACL tears and load management considerations.

I think you are correct. Change of scenery for he and the lefty they traded him for may pay off. And you know the Braves tend to bring players back after a few seasons.

I only watched Kansas v Arkansas but intermittently at best. I doubt I’ll watch many of the games. Maybe Duke to see Cooper Flagg. The “one and done” has killed the men’s college game for me. You just don’t get to know the players well enough to get invested.

I replied to your earlier note about this. I was totally wrong! Glad they are in.
March 19, 2025 at 2:16 PM
You are the standard in your reporting on the WNBA. Can’t wait to see where you go next. You can count on people like me to follow you.

Hope you’re okay if I repost

I appreciate your insights but didn’t everyone see this coming? It feels like mainstream Democrats just refused to believe this was possible. Many of totally expected this. There is no mechanism to stop him. There are whispers that the elections in 7 swing states may have been interfered with.

Hey! They made it in! I was wrong. We’ll see if they can catch fire.
March 18, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Sorry to sound like a Debbie Downer! I want to enjoy the women’s game and see it flourish. It just doesn’t capture me yet outside of Clark.
March 18, 2025 at 2:23 PM
Caitlin’s real difference maker is her brain. It see and processes faster than anyone I’ve seen. Unfortunately thats something you’re born with or not. Can’t practice that.
March 18, 2025 at 2:19 PM
I believe that in the next 7-10 years we’ll see another Caitlin because of her influence currently on young girls. I’ll hopefully be there for that. To me, the women’s game has to get less physical. The refs allow it because the lack of athleticism is real. Same for the WNBA.
March 18, 2025 at 2:17 PM
Honestly, I don’t fully watch any women’s basketball game that Clark isn’t playing in. She is that different. I’ve seen the rest before. Same product as the last 30 years. Some people like it. I spend my time watching players who entertain me. When CC has the ball, special things happen.
March 18, 2025 at 2:12 PM
I irrationally don’t want that for JuJu. She seems like a very nice young woman but I resist the insistence by sports media to artificially elevate her to Caitlin’s level. Clark’s star rose authentically based on her special abilities. Juju doesn’t have that but she’s being rammed down our throats.

A collection of McDonald’s all Americans with the best coach in the country who knows how to win championships. To me, they are a safer bet than USC, UCLA or Texas. UCONN is next in line for me. I’m betting on the jockeys.

I do think something smells in the voting results. Wonder if anyone will ever investigate? Won’t be this administration.
March 18, 2025 at 1:44 PM
My belief is that this game is over. He doesn’t care. He will ignore the courts as they have no mechanism for enforcement. He would pay the price in the next Democratic admin but he’ll simply pardon everyone including himself. The game is over folks.

Dismantling bad deals and looking for pieces are good moves I think. They are hopping the draft is good to them on defense and that their offense will improve with Penix and the other formidable weapons they have.
March 15, 2025 at 12:02 PM
I wouldn’t pick them.
