To all US gear owners getting astronomical charges by DHL

Somebody gave them a call and disputed the charges, the package will be held during the dispute but it should reduce the charges!
I just got off the phone with DHL. I've gone ahead and disputed the charge with them (which they've told me should reduce my fee from $55 to ~$26USD). They said it would take around 7 days for them to process the dispute with their customs broker (during which they will hold the package), but might be helpful for other US customers to call DHL and try to dispute as well! There's a flat $18.34USD fee for "processing" outside of the actual duties, but the necklaces should only have been charged 11% in duties ($8.24USD for one necklace).

I'm lowkey buzzing for a modern AU Jayvik now. 'mage' gooner artist Viktor & Insta cosplayer Jayce.

Viktor has been a fan for years, his art often similar to Jayce's physique. They meet when Viktor is selling at a convention and Jayce walks up to buy merch from him.

so in europe we're getting fucked with plastic and GSPR regulations. US its tariffs. Market is starting to shrink in to convention-only sales which are a gamble of waitlists for artist alleys xD

US literally said to dutch postal: We don't have capacity to enact these tariffs and are depositing the responsibility with POSTNL. So for every shipment I'll have to ship it out and guesstimate what it will cost only to be invoiced way later

DHL uses their existing structure, at least they're fast

There's near to no possibility for me to get merch into the US affordably. DHL is astronomical with shipping cost. Dutch postal is not accepting small shipments + charges ME as shipper for tariffs retroactively.

The only exception being comics and prints 💀
