Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

Here’s a little 75 worder about winter, visions, and friends for you thx @paragraphplanet.bsky.social www.paragraphplanet.com
Upon a winter’s day so frigid the core of trees were heard to pop amidst the otherwise deathly quiet we ventured shoreward. In the gloaming, we carried the fire midlake, the flames alighting slowly upon the pyre’s circumference before climbing on high. Many strange visions of things yet to come were revealed. No moon dared trespass to sully our silent study. We left the embers to burn towards the lakebed at dawn. By Sheldon Birnie

"Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them."

Frank Herbert, Dune, 1965 (Not especially original or insightful, but nice and succinct)

Ran the garden hose in through the window to the basement and cleared out the weeping tile drain pipes, saving a $200 visit from the professionals. Small victories, you guys.

Intensely jealous to have missed these shows, but also grateful and reassured that they happened.

"All this to say, things can be low key and fun and important, even as the world at large seems so fucked up."
