Jungle drums echo through the night air, tropical fronds waving in time with the rhythm. Dusk is mere hours away, beckoning the hues of sunset. Gigantic, almost prehistoric ferns blanket the path. The drums fade. A clearing shows through a break in the ferns. The party has started.

From a small island off the coast of the mainland, a keening echoed across the waves, calling to something below. A serpentine hump broke the surface off the southern point of the island, and a pale, feminine form swam out to it. The beast rose up beneath her. The hunt had begun.

Work in process. I started trying to draw this one like 25 years ago! As 2025 closed, I reviewed old sketchbooks and decided to try to finish it. Done in Procreate with RetroSupply’s Ramen brush. Colors to follow!

I grew up loving the single page gags in Playboy. Imagine my joy at finding Bachelor Pad magazine, today's guide to the Atomic Age! I generally contribute a new gag to each issue. I'm slowly posting them to my Patreon, over time.

The first trading cards I remember being obsessed with were the Star Wars bubblegum cards--it took forever to finish that set. This is an homage to that first card set, but with a Tiki, pinup girl, and the Floating Frog of Zen...
