So blizzard has updated Diablo II, a 25 year old game, with a new character class and extra levels. Ha, what kind of nerd loser would be excited about a 25 year old game?

Oh, it's me. Hi. I play D2. It's me.

Linus wandered off last night, back out into the snowy streets. He must be feeling better. He is true to his namesake. It's not that cold outside so he's probably fine. He knows where we are if he wants more food or a warm place to nap.

I think the democrats should swear more.

But, they need to go all in, get creative with it.
Like, Pam Bondi says something stupid and pedantic and is immediately followed by
" HOW ABOUT YOU ANSWER THE GODDAMN QUESTION YOU COWARDLY HORSE "

Stray yellow cat went missing. He had a napping spot he really liked, and suddenly he wasn't there anymore. Looked all over. He had somehow vanished in our small house. Other cats no help.

Finally found him, in the darkest back corner of the office closet, on […]

When we went to dinner with spouse's coworker (and her wife) we talked about TV shows. Murderbot, Foundation. I went off on how Foundation is good until it gets to a fight scene, which are terrible, and there's no excuse for badly done space combat since BSG exists. They hadn't seen BSG.

Now […]

For Valentine's we ordered the first seasons of Mandalorian and Andor on bluray. They're a bit expensive, but we were happy to see them available. Spouse works for Uncle Sam so sailing the seas isn't an option for us. We gotta pay.

The point being that official DVDs exist. Yeah, it's still […]

Might have acquired a third cat. We've been feeding a neighborhood stray for a yearish now. An old man yellow cat with matted fur and sad eyes. Our younger cat made friends with him.

Yellow cat has decided to hell with this winter and why not just stay in the warm house with the people who feed […]

Conservative culture envies free expression.

It is dominated by insecurity. It can't be comfortable with dancing or singing. Too afraid to be seen as gay or uncool. Too brittle to take a laugh from sources it deems inferior.

Free expression is reserved for the highest ranks who are beyond […]

So substack has nazis, yay. I was planning on using that service for a freebie side project. Spent the weekend hunting alternatives. Most are income focused and too $$$ for a little project.

Bearblog.dev looks like the best fit. First impression is very barebones (ha) but after digging around […]

This is a hilarious use of tattoo stencil paper. I love the creativity.

They do make temporary tattoo paper for home printers. Likely a better choice than messy stencil paper. If you were wearing a hat (it's winter) the stencil would smear and get all over the hat, too.

There are also […]

Speaking of craft fairs and politics ...

Can you imagine, setting up your booth to sell art or quilts or whatever, then getting a surprise pepper spray bath and potentially being abducted/assaulted by lawless armed goons? The nice neighbor who […]

First time I've ever bothered to look up when the superbowl halftime show starts. 4pmish AK time.

I'd say we're boycotting the superbowl itself but we wouldn't watch it anyway. Now we're extra super not watching it.

Humiliations galore! Extra credit for creativity.
I wasn’t there, but I’m proud of the Minnesotans who were. They unselfishly and heroically sacrificed their dildos to protest the human-rights abuses that the trump admin is inflicting on America, particularly on Minnesota.

I came back to mastodon because:

1) seemed like a hopeful "goodbye 2025, hello 2026" thing to do
2) I like alaskan.social. Just the idea is good. I missed seeing photos and weather updates and bits of stuff from all over the state.
3) bluesky will enshitify itself eventually. It's okay, but I […]

Our youngest cat is depressed. He doesn't like winter. He's tired of cold and snow. He's bored all the time. His cat friends don't visit. He wants sunshine and grass and pooping outdoors.

He tore a strip of wallpaper off the wall while we were sleeping in a […]

This is bad news - I keep seeing the trend of this lawless govt poking into social media surveillance plus facial recognition and it makes my hackles stand on end. It's like watching a tidal wave roll in toward a crowded beach.
The Department of Homeland Security
has been quietly demanding
tech companies turn over user information about critics of the Trump administration,
according to reports.

In several cases over recent months,
Homeland Security has relied on the use of administrative subpoenas

When I get insecure about the state of everything I hoard dried beans. Plant based meals are more sensible than meat. Last year I skipped buying the little bags and went straight for the 25# bag of black beans. Now I'm trying different bean recipes, like this one.

Last time I made this I subbed […]
