Need to unfollow all the security faggots. Most of the links they post, like AMD microcode, are meaningless in practice.

Found my ancient Sony smartphone. While it's a joke compared to modern phones, the improvement is disappointingly small for 15 years.

I miss the chaotic edginess of social internet from 10+ years ago.

Thanks to Brodie, I've caught up on the Linux Rust drama. Should Asahi exist at all, if it kills battery life? Sometimes clever people end up wasting time or even creating problems by figuring out how to fix something that shouldn't exist in the first place.

Why was ChatGPT so popular? In the last 15 years, the software of interest moved from Windows into the browser or less powerful devices. The trend was: it's shittier, but it works on your phone.

ChatGPT was the first time the masses realized they want more compute, not less.

Bluesky really embraces the principle of "a picture is worth 1,000 words". 4 pictures can take up 4M bytes, or 1M characters, 100K words. Yet there's a 300 character limit for text. Pictures take up 2-3x the area on the timeline.
Video is the next logical step. BlueTok is coming.

It's confusing that the like button doesn't affect the algo. Need to click the hamburger icon for "more like this". It must be intentional.

This looks promising. GPU provider for Arweave's AO whose mainnet just went live. Will they be able to drop the cost of inference or will it be mostly useless like storage coins? www.apus.network

Is ATProto TikTok clone happening? I'd rather see a reddit or quora clone

SiFive isn't the only RISC-V player. I think the Lichee Pi 4 has open source CPU cores.

The SpacemiT K1/M1 is good enough for a consumer product. Only waiting for the last step for the Vulkan driver.
RPi is lazy. They didn't even invest in a VPU for the Pi 5.

Social media is a lot less fun now that people are afraid to upload pics and videos. The only ones who still do that a lot are influencers who wanna sell you something.

I asked r1 and perplexity to write a browser directory picker, and they both hallucinated a directory uploader instead, because they were trained on the most popular answer on Stackoverflow, while the second answer was that it's impossible due to security constraints.
