I'm very biased because I love both games but I think it depends what you're in the mood for. Galaxy 2 has much tighter level design and is probably the better game moment-to-moment, but Galaxy 1 clears in terms of atmosphere and presentation imo. Feels more like a true space adventure

Before my local GameStop closed recently, they still had several character murals lining the walls that were frozen in 2007-2008. Mario Galaxy, Banjo Nuts and Bolts, Halo 3, Metroid Prime. Never went in there much as an adult but it was nice having a little time capsule while it lasted

Playing Mario Galaxy 2 in bed on my Switch 2 is something I could have only dreamed of as a kid. I can't believe how good it looks. If I went back in time and told myself that he'd be able to play the game on the go and it would look BETTER than it did on the TV at the time, his mind would explode
