To fix inflation, homeowners standards of living must suffer. Pick your poison. The response to covid was to ensure standards of living and risk inflation. The solution to the current problem is the reverse. A debt backed economy can't solve affordability issues without risking a crisis.

My hot take, if this economy continues as is until 2028, we'll get an asset tax and it will be brutal and deserved. All the rich people who voted for trump didn't play the long game.

Reopening of the government resumes the economic conditions we had. So, the stocks that go up went up and the stocks that don't didn't. Seems not odd at all from my perspective.

The dems absolutely blew it, you guys are the party of higher healthcare costs now. The shut down was about one thing and you caved. Good luck being the party of affordability now...I guess we'll have to wait for the next terrible thing the trump admin does for you to get momentum.

As an austerity dem millennial, I agree with the first part but not the second part. The stuff better be resolved before thanksgiving. As for the first part, no bailouts for the grifter era.

My hot take is that they think China/Taiwan is a done deal. So we'll have Nigeria and Venezuela as a consolation. It doesn't have to make sense. Taiwan is queen on the chess board. Nigeria and Venezuela are not. They do not understand this either.
