Now that I have an employer: views are very much my own and not theirs.
While I directionally agree with the rhetorical point you're making, I don't think transformer based LLMs are an example of emergence (and human intelligence an emergent property either isn't really established). Although I'm not sure it's worth revising turn of (this) century debates.

That's why short track is one of the most fun events to watch!

You did great, loved the media hits. Really proud of your work representing our district!

Or billboards in Hollywood / Culver targeting talent/producers driving to the studios to make them think their movie/TV show is being heavily advertised or they're doing a FYC campaign for it (sometimes that's legit but often it's blatantly just to satisfy someone's ego).

What a time to be alive (if you're a computer)

I really hope for the sake of Narrative that she is who the Norwegian dude slept with.

This analogy breaks down unless it's a cabinet minister or MP. While Scottish Labour is technically a unit within Labour, Sarwar derives his leadership from Scottish members, isn't subject to the whip, and may even get tacit approval (not sure if this time) to distance himself from Westminister.

If you're going to be a scumbag at least aim more accurately and ski faster so you can win the Gold.

???? "Close to one-half (45%) of likely November voters have a favorable opinion of Crockett, while 43% have a favorable opinion of Talarico, 41% have a favorable opinion of Paxton, 38% have a favorable opinion of Hunt, and 38% have a favorable opinion of Cornyn."

Live look at the White House where the crutches have just been delivered. This duck is lame.

Because it came out really late on a Friday night.

I just saw that. Would be even better than Horvath IMO.

I'll listen to that, thanks.

Yes that is what I tried to write but it wasn't clear. Bass has been more aggressive on the regulatory side for affordable at least but there is a ton of low hanging fruit with Planning & LADWP that a mayor can work on without even getting to fights over land use or raising funds for public housing.
February 7, 2026 at 7:06 AM
Building housing on city owned land makes a lot of sense but there needs to be a funding mechanism for housing built there to be public. One possibility is market rate with fees to finance that, which may work but means only a fraction of new housing will be public. Has she proposed that?
February 7, 2026 at 6:59 AM
Yes. The point is the issue on housing policy is getting rid of obstacles on building it, which is an issue for both affordable (which isn't only public) and market rate housing. She has no plan to do that. If she wants socialized housing she needs to run for Congress because that's a funding issue.
February 7, 2026 at 6:35 AM
Socialized housing as a housing policy demonstrates a profound lack of seriousness because that isn't something LA city can do. What it can do is reform the Planning Department + push zoning/approvals. Also free transit as a signature policy is troubling since LA has relatively low & capped fares.
February 7, 2026 at 6:33 AM
Well she's been incredibly successful and wildly popular, so what would you have expected?
