I just find wholesale cancellation troubling. I can see where some of her critics were coming from but there was so much toxicity at the time that went way beyond challenging her perspective that I felt for her.

There's enough grief amongst the living, so let's leave the dead in peace, eh?

I think she wants closure. She has been wounded. It will take time

I think she is writing what could be classed as 'popular verse.' or performance poetry rather than technical poetry. She has obviously gained an audience, which has led to publication. I imagine she would be entertaining live, especially for those with an interest in Scots.
Horses for courses.

Oh dear. I shouted it out before you buzzed but it doesn't mean much in the way of things. Plus, you knew loads of other stuff I and most of the populaton of the UK know now't about.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year.

Used to be the same in Northern working class families, where second or third cousins who were older than me were referred to as my aunties and uncles. In Indian and Pakistani families older ladies who are respected family friends are often referred to as aunty

I agree. 'The money game' is what makes the whole system so crap. People like Farage do this legally, while people who accidentally earn a few quid over the boundary for carers allowance have to pay months worth of benefit back instead of the £15.00 quid they went over one week.

But he plays the money game and she doesn't. I'm sure she made a mistake by not fully checking out the initial advice.

Yes. I have just posted somewhere down the thread about this. He's scared of losing ground to the numpties but he's playing it very badly. I mean, as if he sits behind a flag at home. FFS. Whoever is writing his PR script needs sacking. I could do better.

The reality is he is scared to death of being voted out by nationalists. Of course he doesn't sit behind a Union Jack. This is the guy who finally got justice for Stephen Lawrence. He's playing this so very badly alienating sensible people and failing to convince the little Brits.

It seems it's not. How can he get this so embarrassingly wrong?

Five broods is amazing. we reckon the blackbirds in our garden had four. The fledglings are so lovely. I keep seeing a fledgling robin too.
