Intro:
I'm Dylan, I'm a tabletop and board game writer, designer, GM, and infrequent player. These are all hobbies as my family and day job are my first priority. I do work with some audio recording and editing at my day job, and am always learning. I want to stream more and release games in 2025.
I have a new goal in life.

Publish a tabletop game and have someone like it enough to have it be something they regularly run.

Then be a player in a system I wrote. So I can actually experience something I made the way I want others to.

That'd be pretty damn fun.

Alright. 2026 Goal time.

I ran 2 playtests of tTIGR in 2025.

I also designed the entire thing in 2025.

I need to run more tests. I need to make the game run fully online for that.

And I want to run at least 10 one-shots and 1 or more multi-session game.

Let's kick the tires on this game.

I have done the math. There will be a grand total of at least 1650 skills and spells in That Time I Tot Reincarnated the TTRPG, broken down into skill trees of 15 skills each. The good news is I've written 600 of them so far.

... I can't do anything by halves, eh?

Our nearly 20 year old cat walks past 2 food bowls to comr into our room to be fed in an entirely separate bowl. and have it slid in front of her. Because she is a princess. She will also sit silently and stare at us until we see her and feed her.

I wish the ttrpg space took intellectual content from femme creators as seriously as y'all do ideas from cis white men in the space.

I had the realization last night that i have only played a handful of games this year, and ran only Fabula Ultima, and two tests of a game I designed.

I think my 2026 goal is to try and have more private game with friends and doing different systems. Doesn't need to be more than 1-shots.

Dispatch very well may be one of the closest things I have experienced to a perfect game. Storytelling was excellent, strategy was always essential, decisions mattered, and the acting was simply phenomenal.

6 dozen cookies is enough, right. Half of it white chocolate, cranberry, and macadamia, the other half, sans macadamia?

tTIGR plan for now:
1) Work on refining the accessibility of the system with a toolkit and cards.
2) Run a recorded micro-campaign with players who want to be recorded for a mini series.
3) Edit that into a 16 episode podcast.
4) Plan to use the show to advertise the game.

Thoughts folks?

Oh no, what will happen when the AP learns about Tobacco? Shocking news for them. 🫢😱 It's already in every state. And is significantly more addictive *and* harmful.
Doctors say it's possible to get hooked on pot. There's a widespread misconception that marijuana is not addictive, and it's expanded as a growing number of states legalize pot.

Tonight at 6:30 Central time I'm going to stream High Above Them All, a solo journaling game by @callmemeadow.bsky.social

Depending on how long that runs, I will probably play Dreamcore on stream afterwards

I have owned ball python for almost 4 years now.

This is the first time have heard him audibly use the bathroom.

It was louder and grosser than you'd expect, and frankly, hilarious.

Like the last bit of a ketchup bottle being squeezed, watery bits included.

I've rephrased this a dozen times, deleted reply and quote posts and unposted comments. So I will sum it up:

There is no harm in supporting new and progressive primary challengers for every single election moving forward. If they want to keep their jobs make them fight like hell against new ideas.

Nothing like filming a tiktok 3 times only to find out I put my license plate in it and well, guess I can try and drive out to the land and do it all over again next week...

Discussing why salt is an edible rock, while Sugar may be a crystal but is not a rock, my spouse remarked that it is a complex carbohydrate. Which, I remarked, Diamond could be considered as one because it is a carbon structure. Although, not digestible. Does that make Diamonds zero calorie snacks?

If I'm not clear enough on the topic: No one in a nation that wastes 30% of its produced food should be hungry.

No one should be unhoused in a nation that has more empty houses than unhoused people.

Dragons nesting on hoards are the bad guys in tabletop games, not an ideal to strive to become.

"Look up how long casette tapes are, it could be a good way to market podcasts!" -My spouse while driving. They're not wrong. It's a common enough medium podcasts are portrayed in.

But now I need to see how to move files digitally to a tape recorder.

As someone who got to playtest this in development, has a physical copy, and is a huge fan of the author? Get one of the free copies if you like telling stories of mischevious fey with friends. It is spectacular.
In honour of The Cunning Folks' favourite holiday, I've put 31 free copies of the game up on itch for anyone who would love to give it a go!
Now go cause some mischief and be sure to trick more than you treat! 🎃

I accidentally made nearly a gallon of butternut squash soup.

... I intended to make the soup, I did not correctly estimate the end volume of the materials I began with.

Laundromats in Portland have coffee and scones. This is a new and peak level of comfort that I could not possibly have imagined.

I need to work on my That TIGR elevator pitch for people not already in the hobby or anime.

"It's like if Jumanji sucked everyone into a super nintendo high fantasy game?" Does that work?

It's cool, cats, I wasn't gonna sleep in anyway. Let me go ahead and just get up 4 hours early and feed you.

Oh.

The food bowls are still full. And your water fountain is fine.

Cool cool cool. So just waking me for funsies then? Noted.

I need to either run or play in a longer form TTRPG group with people who like to be messy and dramatic.
