The Supreme Court is out of control. To allow the president, without any explanation, to unilaterally dismantle agencies created by an Act of Congress is to endow the president with sovereignty. There is no justification, because they haven’t given one. Our country is in big trouble.

One thing that keeps me up these days: how is the next party in power supposed to govern? The GOP has signaled it will not always be bound by laws or international agreements it disagrees with. It’s not absolute — they blew up part of reconciliation, but not all; ignore some court orders, etc. (1/7)

I continue to be struck by this language of “in accordance with the president’s priorities,” which treats the executive branch as an extension of the person of the president, and not a mechanism for instituting the will of Congress

You’ve seen this movie before: Maybe Reagan guessed, Bush hoped, and Trump tried—but tax cuts never paid for themselves. Given the mountain of evidence, claiming once again that "tax cuts will pay for themselves" is no longer ideologically motivated optimism.

Strange way to characterize a timeline that began with a 2019 quid pro quo and included both the illegal withholding of Congressionally approved military aid and an impeachment. But sure 48 hours.

ElonTrump knifing the government isn’t saving money. Congress already paid for services, the cuts are them denying us the things we’ve paid for.
It’s paying for a product & then getting stiffed.
And they can’t just cut a refund because that would take an Act of Congress.
