Now see this is much more characteristic of a crash out than anything Will is doing.

I don't gamble but if I had to buy anyone at the price listed it would be Pritzker

Yes, the fact that Trump had a credible chance to win in 2016 was both true and massively understated by the rest of the media, making it a useful insight by the person who made it.

It actually was close.

He'd probably have won quite a lot to be fair.

Because some of his commentary was genuinely insightful, and the 538 team he led was very good.

Having two illegal guns instead of one is significant, because it doubles the number of serious crimes you have to commit before the main crime, and therefore doubles the opportunities LE have to catch you.

The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with an overweight bald bloke with a can-do attitude but no gun.
December 14, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Right. The obsession people have with AI is going to make them an attractive target for hackers and scammers if they refuse to be thoughtful about this sort of thing.

I think this might be quite insightful in regards to how Elon overcooked Grok. Disturbing that it probably also gives him insight into how he could eventually make the plausible-sounding anti-woke LLM he wanted.

The logical thing to do in that case would be to use a different operating system. There are always teething pains when new software comes out, but giving random scripts you find access to your system in the hopes that it gets rid of the things you don't like has never been a recommended solution.
December 14, 2025 at 10:21 AM
I'm just being realistic. If you don't want to run an open source OS that you have control over, then you're almost certainly better off running your OS as the developer intended than by downloading random tools you don't understand to delete random components you also don't understand.

Honestly if you find GitHub/Powershell opaque then you probably just need to trust the developers of the operating system to know what's best for you, rather than try to edit their product.

Sorry you don't like it. I remember being annoyed when Office 2007 replaced Office 2003.

I don't think the hatred people have for someone having a beer with Stancil is that much of a separate thing from the general hatred people have for Stancil.
December 13, 2025 at 9:08 PM
If the problem is someone being consistently abusive, what other kind of problem could it be?
December 13, 2025 at 8:55 PM
The fact that someone is under attack for having a beer with Stancil is not "largely because" of anything of the sort.

Technically October 7th could probably be defined as an attempt at genocide, so the war has had genocidal characteristics from literally day 1. I somehow doubt that's what is meant, though.

Wayne Jarvis would be proud.

Because most people wouldn't like the way people are living in Toretsk

I do feel sorry for people who have learned one or more regular expression syntax. Very non-intuitive but powerful languages that are now completely useless to have committed to memory.

Is this the one whose family member killed the abusive husband with her as a co-conspirator? Glad to hear she got out of being executed.
December 12, 2025 at 3:53 PM
I'm not really seeing the flaw, personally. When would it have been better for the head of state to intervene?
December 12, 2025 at 10:40 AM
Wouldn't the pro-trans laws he has signed count as push coming to shove?
December 11, 2025 at 9:54 PM
Of course, not only does the anti-AI community not "seem" to be interested in threading that needle, they openly tell us that they are not. Moreover, it's not even a needle that technically can be threaded, since all LLMs whether "generative" or not rely on the same technology and research.
