🔴Require absentee/mail-in ballots to arrive by Election Day to be counted
🔴Ban ranked-choice voting (RCV)

Of the eight senators who are not seeking re-election, four are Democrats and four are Republicans.

Of the 37 representatives who are not seeking re-election, 15 are Democrats and 22 are Republicans.

This was the first time Democrats retained an existing House majority after the general elections since 1997.

Twelve Republican incumbents lost re-election in Virginia, where Democrats expanded their majority by 13 seats, going from 51 to 64 seats in the 100-member chamber. That tied 2017 for the most incumbents defeated in the chamber’s elections since 2011.

The race was viewed as a division between Democrats, between Democratic socialists who supported Fateh and Democrats who supported Frey.

Incumbent Jacob Frey (D) defeated Omar Fateh (D) and 13 other candidates for mayor of Minneapolis. As of 3:22 p.m. EST, Frey had 53% in round 2 of ranked-choice voting and Fateh had 47%. Frey was first elected in 2017.

6. Voters approved Portland, OR, Measure 26-260, increasing the property tax from $80 to $140 per $100,000 in assessed value for five years to fund parks and recreation programs and capital projects.
