Of the 37 representatives who are not seeking re-election, 15 are Democrats and 22 are Republicans.

Twelve Republican incumbents lost re-election in Virginia, where Democrats expanded their majority by 13 seats, going from 51 to 64 seats in the 100-member chamber. That tied 2017 for the most incumbents defeated in the chamber’s elections since 2011.

Incumbent Jacob Frey (D) defeated Omar Fateh (D) and 13 other candidates for mayor of Minneapolis. As of 3:22 p.m. EST, Frey had 53% in round 2 of ranked-choice voting and Fateh had 47%. Frey was first elected in 2017.
