Husband and Dad to Two Poms and Two Maine Coons. Video Game Hobbyist and Avid Writer. Currently writing an Alternate History/Urban Fantasy/Crime Thriller called 'The Monster And The Flute'. Post stuff about my writing progress or general stuff I like.
The Feeding by A J Ryan - A great start with vampires leading to a post apocalypse in a TLOU style where you see Layla as a crosser, venturing over into the outside to find medication for her Dad

The third act drops the ball hard and goes into tired cliches. Disappointment for me

A Tempest of Tea/A Steeping of Blood by Hafsah Faisal - I really actually enjoy this one. Some very corny dialogue that comes with it being YA, the romance is sweet between Frisk and Jin. But I really enjoy the use of vampire and commentary on colonialism. That is what elevated it for me. Love it

2/1. Guards! Guards! and Men At Arms. - The books that made me fall in love with Terry Pratchett and pushed me to start writing. I loved the mix of fantasy and police procedural stuff. Carrot is such a sweety. Still can't get over that he successfully arrested a dragon!

3. The Lesser Dead - Honestly, this also stuck with me too. Homeless vampires is a interesting concept. But the ending really made me think for days. I'm gonna reread it again at some point, but I highly recommend it.

5. The Wee Free Men - Excellent discworld book, Tifanny Aching is a joy to read
4. I Am Legends - Honestly, it's a book that really stuck with me and honestly, this is the book that sets modern vampirism imo. This is honestly a timeless classic.

8. The Amber Spyglass - Much better than I remembered, loved it.
7. The Northern Lights - But this is still probably my most favourite out of the trilogy.
6. River of London - Loved the mixture of police procedure with magic. Peter Grant is great.

Pretty much. I’m a mixed race white and Pakistani man. In the UK, I already deal with the lovely concept of “Are you one of the good ones” when fascist measures my Britishness. But they’ll easily stab me in the back when it’s not convenient.

So the LGBTQ celebrating Kirk’s death? Brilliant

I think when hateful garbage leads to a reduction in rights of minorities, trans and women’s rights, then forgive me if I don’t have sympathy.

Political violence does not solve the issue and I rather if no one got shot. But personally, I’m finding glee right now with it.

Dogs are about as damaging as humans are, so it's kinda like "Yeah we know".

Needs to be worked around and government policies put in place.

I never seen anyone this fanatic about a politician to a point that cognitive dissonance is constantly on display.

LIke I struggle to think of anyone in the UK that would have people constantly justifying their politicans. Even Nigel Farage don't have permanent cognitive disonance supporters.

I'm for it. Rejoin with the EU, create a United European Army, invest in tech, medicine and manufacturing, refuse to trade with the dollar and use GBP/Euros, isolate the USA from most discussions.

If Trump responds or escalates the situation, remind the USA that we have nukes too.

I just hope our UK government isn't going to trip itself to appease to Trump. I'm worried we're going to be dragged down with it.

Not happy with Foreign Secretary David Lammy acting like a coward, who rightfully criticised Trump before but is like "We're happy to see him again!".

Not silly, but you could try Neva for the ultimate feels. It is a single player indie game though.

Hopefully First Lady Elon Musk gets a little taste of 1950s marriage disputes since they idealised the good ol' days that much.
