Fantastic image of the Crab Nebula obtained with Chandra data (X-ray ) and JWST data (infrared).

The Crab Nebula (NGC 1952; catalogued as M1 in the Messier objects) lies some 6,500 ly away in constellation Taurus.

This composite image features the Crab Nebula like a cloud of material in shades of mostly red and orange. In the very center of the nebula is a structure resembling the shape of a spinning toy top, composed of blue and white wispy clouds. Where the point of the toy top shape meets its flared body, is a ball of brilliant white light: the neutron star at the core of the Crab Nebula. From the bottom of the neutron star, a jet of matter is falling downward.
