I just got a DM from someone that pirated my game.
They said (paraphrasing) that with hindsight the game was absolutely worth the price, and were asking my preferred avenue for them to buy it (Steam vs Itch).

Yeah. It’s “less bad” than putting it in the product that ships since artists are hired, obviously. But it’s a fundamentally poisonous technology, and its use is going to make any of us skeptical of what’s reality and what isn’t. It’s a slippery slope. You need artists for concept, too
using genAI in the concept phase is inherently coloring how you finalize a work even if you “remove it”. tbh it’s why i’ve been cagey on getting the j’RPG and now i’ll be skeptical of larian and any other ceo shmuck trying to sell me a creative work with the same argument
