books like brave new world challenge us to think critically about who gets to control our bodies and our choices. that's exactly why they're banned. check out banned camp—new episodes drop every tuesday and thursday.

5️⃣ book banners don't mind john's violence—they mind lenina having choice. moms for liberty and desantis are banning books about bodily autonomy while trump's supreme court strips away abortion rights. they fear women deciding for themselves.

4️⃣ huxley wrote this in 1932: the guy screaming "whore" looks exactly like an abuser. republicans are now prosecuting women for miscarriages, forcing rape victims to give birth. the cruelty is the point.

3️⃣ john doesn't want lenina free—he wants her trapped in his rules instead of theirs. trump overturned roe, installed judges to criminalize women's healthcare, and calls it "protecting life." it's about who controls women's bodies.

2️⃣ the book gets banned for "promoting promiscuity" but that's cover. it's banned because it shows purity culture is possession. project 2025 explicitly plans to ban abortion nationwide and track women's pregnancies. same control, same violence.
