When I first saw these anti 4 Nations takes on Reddit I thought it was just edgy teens. Seeing adults buy into it is strange to me. Feels like immature whining to me

Anecdotally it has seemed Todd wants guys to try and make plays vs safe chips out of the zone and such. To me this seems in line with that, the guys who can make plays got better and the guys who can’t got worse. Holl has had some atrocious d zone turnovers. Wish he would still just fling it more.

You could have a cap where drafted players cap hit is discounted if they stay with their team. Or give teams more avenues to get out of bad deals(ideally still paying the player). A soft cap doesn’t only mean something like a luxury tax
The owners would never go with this, but it’d be better 4 fans

Definitely true that they could if they wanted. That’s just a huge % of cap on 3 players. With the rising ceiling I don’t think it’s nearly as likely Mack’s 12.6 would be a limit in a softer cap. Just think it’s bad for fans in that way
An analysis piece on largest 3 player %’s would be interesting

I don’t like NCAA guys getting close to that 4 year mark. Even though he’s a hometown guy, being faced with playing 1 more season to become UFA is a pretty enticing thing when there’s another young guy ahead on the depth chart.

Good thing the game is easily accessible! The NHL putting these games on a channel that few have(NHL Network) instead of allowing them to be on ESPN+ is just insane.

Maybe, but the original post of this thread has (with retention) on it. It’s also better for the Blackhawks to make the trade as early as possible to accrue more space for the deadline in case they want to make other moves.
