I've thought about this a lot lately. I'm pretty able to brush off any weirdness about furries but I'm deeply ashamed of my hater phase, which I now see as a desperation to be liked combined with a fear of my own sexuality. Like wow I am SO glad I grew out of that

Yeah, same. I have mixed feelings about maintaining separate personas, but otoh, I've sort of accepted it as part of having to be employable in a society that skews puritan. And in a sense it gives me some freedom, like I can explore ideas I wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable with otherwise
