In 1966 I was a Y7 at a girls’ grammar school. I found this recently in my archive - one of the tasks set by my pretty average English teacher. ‘Choose poems for an anthology & create it.’ I have lots of thoughts about this, especially in light of our current poetry survey of KS3 & 4. Thoughts?

Every year, on National Holocaust Day, I remember my family who disappeared in the Shoah & share a few photographs. Here are my great-grandmother, Sarah, my great-aunt, Karola, and Judith, her daughter. I think too of those who have died & are dying in wars & genocides today.

I've been having a really great time doing @kimmoorepoet.bsky.social and @clareshawpoet.bsky.social's January Writing Hours - an hour of poetry workshopping online throughout Jan. I did it last year & loved it - I couldn't believe how much writing I did. This year has started brilliantly too!
