I love foxes puffins and dancing.I want an independent Scotland in the EU a free state for Palestine and a world without destructive 'strongmen'. I like a good argument but I've had enough of Israeli propaganda and will now simply block those who share it.

Performers who took the cash to perform in South Africa made many of the same excuses. The regime wasn't changed by them, but by those who worked hard to isolate it on the world stage. It's no joke for the opponents of the Saudi regime who tend to end up dead (and sometimes dismembered. What a hoot!

Surely the difference is that Starmer has the parliamentary majority that should have allowed him to see through a progressive programme of renewal. Instead, he's acting as if he were in some kind of coalition with Reform, constantly terrified of shifting too far from their right-wing policies.

Let's see. I don't trust Netanyahu not to fold to pressure from Ben Gvir and Smotrich once Trump's attention wanes after the Nobel Peace Prize announcement on Friday. If he wins he'll have got what he wants and get bored. If he loses he'll take out his anger on everyone and the deal will fall apart.

In the UK, after offering the vaccine to a wide range of people every year, the Government has just severely retricted the criteria for a free vaccination. (Especially increasing the minimim adult age from 65 to 75.) The cost of a private vaccine is about £80 to £100, so many more vulnerable people.

One of the worst things is that when I heard, 'Taylor Swift' and 'national television', I immediately thought , Well with her great figure and massive wealth, she's bound to be wearing something stunning!' (Not a bit of truncated, greying net curtain.)

I remember hearing a woman talking about watching Rihanna with her young daughter. As Rihanna danced half-naked across the stage, she would say to the child, 'Poor Rihanna. She's lost her clothes and is trying to find them'. Maybe Taylor could have done with such an intervention from her mom.

They did manage to fill most of the rest of the programne with Kemi Badenoch promising to rob the (welfare and aid-dependent) poor to help the (home-owning) rich) and having the gall to quote Martin Luther King on character mattering more than colour a couple of days after Jenrick said the opposite.

I am confident that the many other women who fought, as I did, for many.years for the cause of women's liberation and equality, would agree wholeheartedly with me.
The disparity between how the two people in the photo feel moved to present themselves echoes the Manet painting. Depressing.
