Amanda Aguilar, an immigration lawyer, said cartels held one of her clients for ransom immediately after his deportation to Mexico via the Tamaulipas border.

The 25% tariff on automotive imports announced by President Trump will add to the already difficult economic outlook for Mexico, the largest exporter of automobiles to the US. Passenger vehicles and auto parts represent 11.1% and 6.1% of Mexico's total sales to its northern neighbor, respectively.
