This may sound anachronistic, but you could try listening to the radio! Find a station with programming you like, and stream it. KCRW in LA is a good place to start. KCSM if you like jazz. WWOZ New Orleans Etc.

I lived in New Mexico for a long time. People there. love to joke about how non- New Mexicans don’t understand that New Mexico is a US state. But here it’s no joke; a US citizen tries to explain to border officials that he’s from New Mexico and ends up in immigration detention.
