Our final birds of the count were two adult bald eagles that passed just after 4 PM yesterday. They brought the bald eagle record total up to 761!

Stay tuned for our migration season wrap up and final species tallies coming soon!

Did you hear? We have already surpassed our bald eagle record! Our current count of 736 has smashed last year's tally of 668, and the count isn't over yet. A testament to ongoing raptor conservation efforts!

Where do you think our total count will end up? Reply with your guess!

If you've ever thought about joining a Christmas Bird Count, do it! A top early birding memory was walking a snowy park with a guy who really knew his stuff. See the list below. Don’t hesitate to contact leaders directly & get clarity on the when/where—birders aren’t always the best communicators. 🪶
Audubon's Christmas Bird Count starts this Sunday and runs through January 5th. This is a 126-year tradition that has built a critically important, long-term dataset on bird populations across the US and much of the western hemisphere. It's also fun and wholesome. www.christmasbirdcount.org

The gluttonous doves have found my feeders. At one point 3 were sitting in the hanging feeder with 4 more waiting anxiously on the fence waiting for a spot to open up. Maybe I should tell them to get reservations from now on😆
