Oh definitely. Taken together both stories show sometimes there are no heroes or villains just two people whose lives crossed paths.

And Where The Pieces Go is the same story from Lacie's POV and it also is published.

The two main Characters Collin and Lacie are meant for the reader to connect with they both approach the reunion in different ways. I refer to them at times as the Stone and the Storm.

Old friends, new friends, and an ex just to make things awkward.

It centers around two main characters but there are around 8 other characters they interact with that have their own opinions on the events in the novel.

I just make sure memories and flashbacks from the original stay consistent. I want my characters to remember events close to 100% but you could easily have them misremember them and then in the prequel the read could be like "ooohhh it happened differently."

Every step forward is a victory.
