Oh well, the creator of the show said it was all connected. And even if that wasn't the case, I'd argue the fact toriyama worked on it as much as he did it should be considered cannon even if people don't like what's in it.

Oh ok I see what you mean, but I still disagree on it not connecting to super mainly due to that whole worldbuilding episode with the Kais from Super. Why wouldn't you just make new looking kais if it wasn't tied to super in some way? Also, there are nods to the Super manga all over daima.
